Minnie Rock - Big Flats Township Wisconsin

Adams County Wisconsin Rock Formation

Minnie Rock is located in Big Flats Township of Adams County, Central Wisconsin just northwest of Big Roche-A-Cri Lake along Carter Creek which is a class 1, 2, & 3 trout stream.  Not much is known about Minnie Rock because it's on private land and not really visable from Chicago Ave due to the trees from the surrounding forest. This rock formation is not open to the public as the land is privately owned; DO NOT TRESPASS!

One interesting thing about Minnie Rock is that they can be seen from Roche-A-Cri State Park if you climb the 300+ steps to the top of Roche-A-Cri Mound. You can see about a dozen formations from the platform plus there are plaques to help you identify each one including: Minnie Rock, Ship Rock, Cottonville Rock, Rabbit Rock, Dorro Couche Mound, Necedah Mound, Petenwell Mounds aka Petenwell Rock, Quincy Bluff, Rattlesnake Mound, One Mile Bluff and Friendship Mound. Rabbit Rock - Big Flats Township Wisconsin

Rabbit Rock is located in Big Flats Township of Adams County, Central Wisconsin just north of Adams-Friendship and south of Wisconsin Rapids not to far from Big Roche-A-Cri Lake.  This popular rock outcropping is open to the public via the state wayside which has a parking lot Rabbit Rock and lawn with picnic tables.  But the wayside is NOT open year round it's closed during the winter months. From the top of the rock you can see for mile including view of Roche-A-Cri Mound in the state park.

Dorro Couche Mound - Rome Township Wisconsin

Dyracuse Mound also known as Dorro Couche Mound and D'oro Couche Mound is located in Rome Township of Adams County, Central Wisconsin just south of the Tri-Lakes mainly Lake Camelot.  This rock formation is not open to the public as the land is privately owned; DO NOT TRESPASS! BUT is open to a ATVs & Dirt-bikes for a fee the trails are part of Dyracuse Off-Road Park so you can get on D'oro Couche Mound. The park currently consists of about 400+ acres with 10 miles of trails you can even rent the entire park out for a couple hundred dollars (on closed days only).

Rome Township WI

Rome Township is located at the northwest part of Adams County, Central Wisconsin home of the Tri-Lakes; Lake Arrowhead 300 acres, Lakes Sherwood 246 acres & Lake Camelot 445 acres. The areas around the lakes are heavily developed and have covenants, rules, regulations and restrictions. There are literally hundreds of deeded lake access parcels on both sides of Hwy 13 around these all sports fishing lakes. There are a couple of stream running through Rome including Chester Creek, Spring Branch which flows into Sherwood Lake, Fourteen Mile Creek which fills Lake Camelot and Lake Arrowhead then dumps in to Lake Petenwell that is part of the Wisconsin River Flowage System. Twin Lakes is also located in the Township right across the street from Petenwell right by Twin Lakes Nature Preserve; 45 wooded / wetland acres. There are two rock formations Hamilton Mound and D'oro Couche aka Dyracuse Mound part of Dyracuse Off-Road Park close to Monroe Prairie Recreation Area for ATVing. Most of the back roads are open to both ATVing and Snowmobiling via routes. Rome WI is known for the Lake Arrowhead Golf Courses; The Pine Course and The Lakes Course plus Room to Roam Dog Park.

Cottonville Rock - Preston Township Wisconsin

Preston Township WI

Preston Township is located in Adams County, Central Wisconsin just north of Adams/Friendship.  Preston has the only State Park in the County; Roche-A-Cri State Park. The park features Roche-A-Cri Mound which has 303 steps all the way to the top with a lookout platform facing the north with views also to both east and west where you can see the hills of Coloma and all the way to the Wisconsin River Valley. Carter Creek flows through the state park and eventually feeds into Castle Rock Lake, WI. You can see dozens of Turkey Vultures circling the mound on any given day. Directly to the South is Friendship Mound which over looks both Friendship Lake and Friendship Park.

Preston is also home to Big Roche-A-Cri Lake which is about 200 acres of ski able water formed by Big Roche-A-Cri Creek trout stream.  There's also Carter Creek, Deed Horse Creek, Fordham Creek and Bingham Creek which forms Bingham Pond. Besides Roche-A-Cri State Park there's also Remnant Fordham Creek and Remnant Little Roche-A-Cri Creek which is also open to the public for Trout Fishing and Hunting.
