Friendship Park Flooding - CLOSED Reopened
Friendship Dam & Lake Area Blocked Off
Update: About 3pm on July 8th 2017 the Friendship Park reopened and was a major local tourist attraction also the area roads opened back up as well.
BREAKING: Due to the July 6th 2017 Hail storm that produce up to 5 inches of rain in certain areas on July 8th 2017 Friendship Park has been closed due to Flooding.
There is a lot of speculation that the Friendship Dam has failed at this time but has not been confirmed. NOAA has decleared a flood watch - According to the Adams County Sheriffs Department, the dam in Friendship has not failed (LINKED BELOW).

Heavy rains from the July 6th Hail Storm added more water to the abnormal season of high water to the Adams County Area increasing the volume on Fordam Creek & Little Roche-A-Cri Creeks known class trout streams which fill Friendship Lake. Friendship Dam helps form and maintain the lake but there has been a lot of local controversy with the Dam’s owner over the past couple years with the maintenance of the Dam and the lakes water levels. Below the Dam is a State Highway 13 bridge then Friendship Park which Little Roche-A-Cri Creek flows through on its way to Castle Rock Lake. These high water levels have now flooded the park and force some local residents to evacuate plus added several road closures in the area including Hwy 13 by Friendship, Parts of Cty J & N, Czech by Friendship Park and the backside of Friendship Lake on 11th Ave known as Friendship Pond.
Residents are asking if the Dam is Breaking? & Will the levee hold?
