4th of July Parade in Adams Friendship 2011

This year's Fourth of July parade in Adams-Friendship drew the largest crowd I have seen in the last 10 years.  The sidewalks were filled on both sides of Highway 13 as far as the eye could see, to watch this year's 50th Annual parade.  4th of July is not just about fireworks and parades; it is about celebrating our Independence Day which is the birthday of the United States of America and when we won our National Sovereignty from England on July 4th, 1776, 235 years ago.  (50th Annual 4th of July Parade lineup 2011).

The crowd was in very good spirits exchanging stories about family and their histories here in Adams County, Wisconsin.  There was plenty of remembrance for our community's fallen soldiers. The parade lasted about 1-1/2 hours peppered with sounds of marching bands throughout main street.  The streets were filled with laughter & excitemtn.  The parade began at the Adams County Fairgrounds and ened at the south end of Adams.   It seemed that most of the floats appeared to be ran by the kids of the community, said one spectator.
